Big Hole Beads

 

'Chatelle' are my Big Hole beads and hearts they are charm beads which will slip on to your pandora, troll, chamillia style bracelet systems.

These are made using a 5mm mandrel, which means the hole will be a little larger due to the bead release which has been removed after cleaning.

I can add sterling silver grommets to any Chatelle beads or you can purchase them separately and add them yourself.

If you have a silver plated bracelet I can core beads with silver plate grommets.

I am working on copper cores for these beads for those of you who love copper (like me) and who may have a bracelet in copper chain maille!

I will let you know when these will be available. 

 

Elmer is a really chunky barrel Chatelle bead with a pair of donut Chatelles making this a 3 bead set. Made with ivory glass with wraps of Richenbach Dark Multicolour glass (purples and blues) around the centre and the chunky bead has dots in Multicolour glass (greens) around the edges.

 

I so love this Elmer Set!

Unzipped is a pair of Chatelle beads using Riechenbach Multicolour (left) and Dark Multicolour (right) with a central band of dark ivory.  The reaction between the 2 colours creates the dark jagged edge on both beads.

NB: The right bead has blues and browns but Dark Multi could also produce reds and purples too.  The left bead has mainly greens with hints of blue along the jagged edge.  The glass itself creates these colours and its part of its make up.

Size: 14mm with 5mm inside dia. hole 

(NB:These beads are not silver lined)

 

This pair can be reproduced using this same technique but no 2 beads will be the same.

Winter Drifts has been made using a clear/opal glass called CIM Cirrus it has a translucent opalescence, with pale blue frit encased within it.

Its very difficult to capture a very good likeness of its appearance it is beautiful and it has sterling silver grommets/cores to finish the holes.

One pair of sterling silver grommets for my Chatelle (big hole) beads, these will give you a finished look to the hole of your beads just like 'pandora' style beads. 

They will need adhesive for glass to metal.

Aqua & white Twizzle heart, this has a central swirl decoration and then twizzled the colours through into the point of the heart.  It also has a pretty little murrini decoration on its white shoulder.

This would look great on a necklace chain or a 'pandora' style bracelet.

This is a chunky Chatelle Bead, with four swirls around it with silvered ivory melted in with small particles of shardfetti decoration in browns/corals.

Size:  15mm dia. x 10mm wide ~  with 5.5mm diametre hole.

 

NB:  This bead has not been cored.

Briar Patch Hearts are made with dark ivory glass with silver rich shardfetti patches and this version has been etched for satin smooth feel. 

This heart has green/silver patches back and front there are other coloured shardfetti available please contact me for details.
